Founder and Managing Director
Jo-Anne founded neoSome ltd alongside Colin Hetherington in 2019. She has been a part of the School of Engineering at RGU team since 2003 when the School began delivering distance learning MSc courses in Energy related subjects. Prior to this she was a geologist working in the oil and gas industry. She joined RGU taking the lead in distance learning and pastoral care of distance learning students in 2009. In 2016 she became a Senior Lecturer and in 2017 a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She is now the Academic Strategic Lead for Teaching, Learning and Student Experience and is halfway through a PhD looking at the Mental Wellbeing of Engineering Students.
Enhancing education is a passion for her and having taught in virtual worlds over the past 10 years brings a unique set of skills to neoSome ltd.
Founder and Director
Colin founded neoSome ltd alongside Jo-Anne Tait in 2019. He has been an elearning developer in the School of Engineering at RGU since 2009 and developed the school’s virtual oil rig using OpenSim technology. Developing effective processes to virtual world development is a fascination for Colin and working alongside many collaborators over the years has pushed the boundaries of educational technology and inspired others to do the same. A keen eye for detail, he brings technical skill and oversight to our development processes.
